with addition, subtraction is reverse of addition, addition and subtraction
together, estimating the difference and word problems on subtraction.

(v) Sheeba went to a concert with her family and friends. There were 95 tickets sold for that concert. Out of these, 75 people attended it. How many people did not- attend?

(vi) There were 154 passengers on a double-decker bus. If there were 52 passengers on the upper deck, how many passengers were there on the lower deck?

(vii) Akash had 67 rupees. He gave 41 rupees to his brother Amit. How many rupees does Akash have now?

(viii) There are 59 students in a class. On one day 22 of them remained absent. How many students were present in the class on that day?

(ix) The sum of two numbers is 65. If one of the numbers is 32, find the other number.

(x) 72 cutlets were bought for a birthday party. There were 28 cutlets left after party. How many cutlets were used in the party?

(xi) There were 38 girls and 26 boys in a class. Who were more and how many more?

(xii) A bus carried 56 passengers. At a bus-stop, 28 of them got down on the way. How many passengers were left in the bus?

(xiii) 565 children of a school had ice-creams, 218 students had vanilla ice-creams. The rest had chocolate ice-creams. How many had chocolate ice-creams?

(xiv) There are 500 seats in an auditorium. If 374 people attended a concert held in the auditorium, how many seats were empty?

(xv) There are 864 students in a school, out of which 453 are boys. How many of the total students are girls?
